Bakuon

(Last Updated On: April 21, 2017)

The story revolves around high school girls who discover the appeal of motorcycles. Sakura Hane is a high school student who looks a little bit like an airhead. On the way to her all-female high school one day, she is worn-out climbing a hilly road with a bicycle, but she sees a girl named Onsa Amano who is riding a motorcycle. Sakura immediately becomes interested in motorcycles, and she and Onsa join the motorcycle club at the school. Then, Sakura sets out to get her license. – My Anime List

So far BAKUON!! is a cute show about the budding friendship of five girls who want to ride motorcycles. It’s funny, a little cheesy, and has a lot of motorcycle talk. I think it’s worth checking out.

Bakuon is already well-down to the road to being a great comedy, and shows few signs of making a U-turn.

Suicide Love Story Reviews
Bakuon!! is a diamond in the rough as they say. It has the qualities of something much greater but never shows them enough. It is bogged down by some odious characters; it didn’t really hit me until after the series ended just how much 2 characters can hit (and hit hard) my enjoyment of a series. Those two are simply not my cup of tea but I would still recommend watching the series as the positives far outweigh any issues and it may well give you a nudge into exploring more about motorbikes.

Boring? Sure. Uninspired? Absolutely. But you can go a lot worse than Bakuon if you’re just looking for cute anime girls to keep you occupied.

IMDB
There are many anime series about school girls involved in various activities, some more fun than others. To my mind this is one of the more fun series of this type. The characters are all a lots of fun and their interactions are entertaining to watch; we even get a ‘moe Stig’ in the form of club president Raimu Kawasaki! There are lots of laughs to be had along the way; some of the moments are genuinely hilarious. There is a small amount of fan service; it doesn’t go too far though and is actually quite funny. The animation is impressive as are the character and background designs. Overall I heartily recommend this series; I enjoyed it far more than I expected.

An energetic, if flawed, show that nevertheless has its heart where it counts.

Bakuon!! may hit a few bumps in the road, but that doesn’t stop it from reaching its destination. Its theme on foolishness makes those sharp turns. Its sound-work gets over those hills. And its likable cast and silly jokes stop it from taking too many detours. All in all, it would make for quite the metallic hand-me-down.

So, should you watch this? God no. Stay away from it. It’s so bland, I could serve it instead of white rice.
