Kuronuma Sawako is completely misunderstood by her classmates. Her timid and sweet demeanor is often mistaken for malicious behavior. This is due to her resemblance to the ghost girl from “The Ring,” which has led her peers to give her the nickname Sadako. Longing to make friends and live a normal life, she is naturally drawn to Kazehaya Shouta, the most popular guy in class, whose “100% refreshing” personality earns him great admiration from Sawako. So when Kazehaya starts talking to her, maybe there is hope for the friendships Sawako has always longed for. Maybe… there is even a little hope for some romance in her future. – My Anime List

A series that I highly recommend to anyone as I think many will be able to relate to this, whether it’s a character, or the ‘typical’ high school life. And even if you’re not a shoujo fan, you should give it a chance and see if the emotions grip you into the story so much that you must finish it. There is a lot more I want to say about how great this series is, but somethings just can’t be put into words, so my last words in this review for you is that it’s a typical shoujo, but done so brilliantly well that anyone and everyone should and can enjoy.
In Conclusion Kimi ni Todoke is a sweet and refreshing story with excellent and lovable characters, it deserves nothing less than a 10/10. This series is a must watch by all true anime fans.
I would HIGHLY recommend this series to anybody who considers themselves a romantic. It’s one of my favourite animes of all time, and it is my favourite romance anime of all time.
Say “I Love You” is nicely animated, great backgrounds with interesting perspectives, details and color. I watched it dubbed and think the American voices fit well. It all worked great to support the story and the characters.

Kimi ni Todoke is one of the better romantic comedies the anime industry has brought us in the last decade. While there are some aggravating moments regarding the Sawako/Kazehaya relationship, it grounds itself enough to point out the realistic aspects of these sorts of friendships that may evolve into something else entirely. Come for the romance, stick around for the laughs, and soldier through the hardships that Sawako, Kazehaya, and the rest of Kimi ni Todoke’s likable characters delivers throughout its 38-episode run.

Kimi ni Todoke is and should be the quintessential love story within the medium. It is the idyllic feel-good work that proudly shows why tales of romance will never fail to tug at our heartstrings. Storytellers will continue to tell age-old stories written with some cosmic force that involuntarily rev our own hearts. It’s through these variations of love, can we vicariously experience it too (or at least dream). To feel the stars fall down from the skies in to our eyes and color the world with a rosy tint, oh what a feeling it must be! And that is indeed the type of unadulterated love you will see, feel, and experience with Sawako and Kazehaya as they walk under the star-crusted skies in Kimi ni Todoke.
All in all, this anime is a very good anime. I give it two thumbs up and highly recommend it. It might be a tad boring for some of you because of the story line progression but the art, visual and the wacky and adorable characters make up for it. This anime gives out the same feel/aura as Maid-Sama and Byousoku No Centimeter, so if you enjoyed both of them you should enjoy Kimi Ni Todoke too!

As a guy watching and reviewing a romance anime, I highly enjoyed this one. It was touching, laughable and some cases tearful.. Made me feel frienship and love can bloom together whether anyones differences. Though it has some slow starting points and some arcs that interrupts the story, I wish they could of organized it some ways through order and pace but overall it’s good.
Kimi ni Todoke is a really good anime but is definitely not my favorite in the romance kimi-ni-todoke-conclusiongenre or even shojo and I can think of better series revolving around the shy girl x popular boy trope. But I cannot deny I really did enjoy Kimi ni Todoke which is why I’m up to date to the manga. I have problems with this anime but there is a lot things I love about this anime.
My Anime List
Overall, Kimi ni Todake is easily a top 5 series for me and one of the best shows of the decade. It was immediately appealing to me from the first episode and I am extremely sad to see it end. This is how more romance shows should be done and is not to be missed by anyone who likes the genre in even the slightest bit. It really doesn’t get much better than this one.
After my review of the first half of Season One I was exhorted by some fans of the show to see what my feelings were about the show after the rest of it. And yes, for the effort Sawako is obviously putting in to work on her social skills, I’m willing to award her one more star than last time, though as I said I almost gave the show 4 stars before. It’s not a five star show- it’s a little too spare and understated for that, though paradoxically those traits are also some of the show’s greatest strengths. I’m still not that happy about the rather crude character art, even aside from the show’s frequent lapses into SD. But the story itself, as I’ve noted before, very often has quite a realistic feel to it.
The Otaku Judge
Despite my praise, Kimi ni Todoke is one of those shows that starts strong only to lose steam as it goes along. Season one has a perfect blend of cute romance and humorous comedy.

Its a sweet and kinda slow anime to watch but i think you might enjoy it just like i did. ( I even brought the manga)
The Nihon Review
Overall, it has its flaws and Sawako can occasionally be trying, but more often than not she and the rest of the cast are delightful and it has one of the most meaningful and satisfying non-endings I’ve seen.
