Prison School

(Last Updated On: February 27, 2017)

Located on the outskirts of Tokyo, Hachimitsu Private Academy is a prestigious all-girls boarding school, famous for its high-quality education and disciplined students. However, this is all about to change due to the revision of the school’s most iconic policy, as boys are now able to enroll as well.

At the start of the first semester under this new decree, a mere five boys have been accepted, effectively splitting the student body into a ratio of two hundred girls to one boy. Kiyoshi, Gakuto, Shingo, Andre, and Jo are quickly cast away without having a chance to make any kind of a first impression. Unable to communicate with their fellow female students, the eager boys set their sights on a far more dangerous task: peeping into the girls’ bath!

It’s only after their plan is thoroughly decimated by the infamous Underground Student Council that the motley crew find their freedom abruptly taken from them, as they are thrown into the school’s prison with the sentence of an entire month as punishment. Thus begins the tale of the boys’ harsh lives in Prison School, a righteous struggle that will ultimately test the bonds of friendship and perverted brotherhood. – My Anime List

Prison School succeeds because it is a subtle combination of elements that are inherently brash, working together in unison to create something that has second and third guessing yourself every single episode but leaving you with little less than absolute joy. Personally, I think Prison School can be enjoyed by many audiences, but on that same note I can also understand why many would be put off by it. It’s this strange duality that makes Prison School so great and, if you willing to open yourself up to it, will give you so much more than you expected.

I watched this anime.

I do not regret the decision to watch this.
But I will probably never talk about watching this anime with anyone besides a select few.

Should you watch Prison School? Yes, definitely, if you want a bizarre and hyper sexualized show with a clever story. A strong NO if you dislike exploitative fan service as this show pumps it up to 11. Despite all the blatant lewdness, I strongly believe Prison School is worth the watch if you can stomach (or enjoy, I won’t judge) the ecchi. The bizarre plot is handled with wit and thought, and is sure to entertain and surprise anyone expecting just another cookie cutter ecchi

I must change the title to who would not watch to keep the list short. If you DON’T like adult jokes, fanservice and dominating side characters, then this anime is not for you. Other than that, I think this anime will easily appeal to majority of anime viewers.

Overall, Prison School offers a lot to enjoy even if you’re not normally a fan of fanservice shows. In fact, the show might be less appealing in a traditional fanservice sense, since so many of its big setpieces are more grotesque than sensual. The show is a study in extreme tradeoffs – stiff animation for expressive character designs, unlikable characters for solid slapstick, manic pacing for absurdly convoluted schemes. It’s a funny and passionate work, a striking example of trash done right.

Prison School is an anime with a very unorthodox combination of genres and styles, and an even rarer case of one which actually does it successfully. It stands out for its hilariously exaggerated scenes, its crazy characters and its ability to do literally *anything* without holding back for even a second. Is it a show for everyone? No, but I still think it’s targeting a much larger audience than first impressions may lead you to believe. It’s a highly entertaining series from start to finish, and while I still prefer the manga version, it’s definitely an anime worth checking out, even if only to see just what the hell is actually going on in it.

Prison School took me by surprise, I did not expect an anime like this to air and more importantly I did not expect to like it as much as I did. I appreciated the humor and the over the top ways of executing an over the top story.

I can’t really place my finger on why I like this anime. It’s perverted. It’s harsh. It’s unrealistic. The animation isn’t really appealing. The story isn’t amazing. Sometimes it feels like some BDSM thing. The characters aren’t very relatable to me. Still, for some reason, I still want to see the next episode. It caught my interest.

A show that, at first, was uncomfortable to watch for me because of the major sexual nature, but then I got over it and was actually excited to see what happened next in every episode. It is very funny mostly because of how over the top it is with everything.

I’ve read Prison School manga before the anime came out and I was looking forward to the anime. The anime did not disappoint as it actually followed the manga. Prison School is one of the best Ecchi anime/manga I’ve came across.

Prison School was one of the most far out there anime that I’ve ever seen. It really doesn’t want you to take it seriously and I think that’s ok. I loved the comedy of the show and I think that most of you will too. I will say again there are plenty of sexual situations including nudity and also very dirty language so if you can’t handle things of that nature then give this a pass. For those of you that don’t mind it and just want to watch a raunchy comedy to kill some time or just wanna cut loose then go ahead and give Prison School a watch.

If you like vulgar humor you will enjoy Prison school and laugh throughout its 12 episodes. You may get annoyed at how evil the council girls are or how ridiculous the premise is, but it will be a fun ride.
