Youkai Academy is a seemingly normal boarding school, except that its pupils are monsters learning to coexist with humans. All students attend in human form and take normal academic subjects, such as literature, gym, foreign language, and mathematics. However, there is one golden rule at Youkai Academy—all humans found on school grounds are to be executed immediately! Tsukune Aono is an average teenager who is unable to get into any high school because of his bad grades. His parents inadvertently enroll him into Youkai Academy as a last-ditch effort to secure his education. As Tsukune unknowingly enters this new world, he has a run-in with the most attractive girl on campus, Moka Akashiya. Deciding to stay in the perilous realm in order to further his relationship with Moka, he does not realize that beneath her beauty lies a menacing monster—a vampire. Rosario to Vampire is a supernatural school comedy that explores Tsukune’s romantic exploits, experiences, and misadventures with a bevy of beautiful but dangerous creatures. – My Anime List
Based on 18 review scores:
Rosario + Vampire takes a genre that is usually quite formulaic and helps break at least a few of the shackles that hold it back from being great. There is plenty of comedy to be hand as well as action mixed in as well with a spice of fan service thrown in every minute or so. The Tsukune and Moka make a perfect pair of lead characters while the other girls’ personalities and design create quite a conundrum for fans as they choose who to root for. Unfortunately Rosario + Vampire stumbles slightly by having a slow developing story and a formulaic episode pattern that becomes too predictable at times. Still, Rosario + Vampire creates a monster mash unlike we’ve ever seen before… especially for Tsukune.

Overall, if you are looking for a fun anime and don’t mind HEAVY sexual over and undertones, then I highly recommend Rosario + Vampire. It’s a whole lot of fun packed into short entertaining episodes.
However, the plot line does seem to twist a lot and the subject matter can twist from dead serious to completely ridiculous in the course of one episode, so this may not be suitable for anyone wanting a more serious or purely happy anime to start.

Neither Rosario + Vampire nor Capu2 could by any stretch be called a good series, but they do provide at least a minor level of consistent entertainment value (when not irritating viewers with trite tropes) and do occasionally do better than that. The sheer amount of fan service is nothing to be scoffed at either.
The best part of Rosario,in my opinion, was the way the characters were developed and the interactions between them. This is most notable in the first season, because the characters introduced in season 2 were not that many and didn’t have important roles. And here we come to the main problem of this anime. The overall flow was good in the first season, story arc was complete, characters received adequate development.Season 2,however,breaks that flow. The first 2 episodes introduce a new character,Moka’s sister, who receives very little in terms of development(which is not so in the manga). The next episodes contribute nothing to advance the overall plot and the pacing becomes horrible.A subplot about Moka’s Father pops out of nowhere in the final 3 episodes, when it should have been developed,or at least hinted, throughout the entire season. The characters are also do not receive as much development as in season 1.

Overall Rosario + Vampire was a rather disappointing show considering how Gonzo had a really good source to work with but decided to ruin it in order to bring ecchi comedy and pointless plot. If you are the type of person who likes this kind of ecchi comedy and mindless fanservice then R+V will be a good show for you to watch and I recommend it for you (also rejoice as a season 2 will be coming). For someone who likes a good story, dont bother, this anime is not worth it.
While the show isn’t all that bad, it did bother me that they kept on showing the girls panties so much. They over sexualized the show and the characters. The rest of the show was more like typical school life drama with a guy who has so many girls flaunting around him.
Rosario and Vampire is not a great anime, but it can be great fun. It all depends on how much anime you have seen, and of what sort. When I started watching anime on DVD, one of the first shows I watched was Love Hina (another anime that I found out much later was inferior to its source manga), and it too is a harem comedy. It’s not all that great, but it is funny, and it did make me hungry for more anime. Rosario and Vampire fills that same niche. It’s a great way to get into anime, as it’s a solid and entertaining harem comedy. That’s as much of a staple of the medium as you can get, and Rosario and Vampire is very good at delivering on the basics. If you haven’t seen a lot of anime before, or you don’t have a lot of harem comedy in your collection, then this a great purchase for which I’d rate it a 7. Knock that down a notch or two depending on how much anime you have seen, as the experienced will get a ‘seen it all before’ feeling from the show.
DONT GO NEAR THIS IF YOU HAVE ANY PRIDE AS A ANIME WATCHER.

Would recommend this to anyone who wants a lighthearted romance/harem with fanservice. For similar anime, I suggest (Keep in mind I have only read the descriptions for these online and haven’t seen them) To Love Ru and Is This A Zombie. Sorry if these are bad suggestions.
There’s some potential here, but they pretty much squandered most of it by forgetting to tell the story. What’s left is strictly for the discerning fanboys, who can add some stars at their leisure.
The Nihon Review
As enjoyable as it is, Rosario + Vampire is an average fanservice anime, and a below average anime, considering where the fanservice anime bell curve sits in comparison. I had fun with this, but even after turning off my brain, my intelligence was still insulted. Pretty girls, excessive pantyshots and a few humourous exchanges of insults are the highlights, but if that’s not your thing, avoid this like the plague. Hell, even if this is your thing, you might do better looking elsewhere.

Overall I do not think it would be worth it to read or watch Rosario + Vampire from the beggining because in my opinion it was quite terrible. Heck I only continued reading it because I was quite optomistic that surely things should get better. And I was right once you get into the second season the story gets much better, but thats not saying much since in comparisons to other animes it still is actually quite bad. But if you are somehow able to get past the first half of the story which consist of 100% ecchiness and 0% plotline then I applaud you! But in all seriousness you think a mythical monster themed manga would be more serious like Nurarihyon no Mago, but nope its your average highschool harem anime
The Anime Accord
Never the less, It has to be said that this show has some strong ecchi game, with many views of ladies undergarments, so If you’re looking for some ecchi comedy then, yes, I would watch this one. But as I said before, I wasn’t particularly enamoured with anything past the cast.
Rosario + Vampire just wasn’t all that good. That’s a nice way to put it. The characters are barely given time to develop into interesting characters that viewers can connect to (which seems essential for this type of show to completely work) and the comedy can seem a bit lame most of the run-time. The jokes are also too repetitive and so are the plots. Skip It.
Terrible in every way possible. Not even a single scene or episode even amounted to mediocre. If its creators aren’t already ashamed, they should be.
