Toradora!

(Last Updated On: February 2, 2017)

Ryuuji Takasu is a gentle high school student with a love for housework; but in contrast to his kind nature, he has an intimidating face that often gets him labeled as a delinquent. On the other hand is Taiga Aisaka, a small, doll-like student, who is anything but a cute and fragile girl. Equipped with a wooden katana and feisty personality, Taiga is known throughout the school as the “Palmtop Tiger.”

One day, an embarrassing mistake causes the two students to cross paths. Ryuuji discovers that Taiga actually has a sweet side: she has a crush on the popular vice president, Yuusaku Kitamura, who happens to be his best friend. But things only get crazier when Ryuuji reveals that he has a crush on Minori Kushieda—Taiga’s best friend!

Toradora! is a romantic comedy that follows this odd duo as they embark on a quest to help each other with their respective crushes, forming an unlikely alliance in the process. – My Anime List

Toradora! is an outstanding anime, delivering almost everything you want from this genre. Each episode relentlessly attacks with the laughs and the feels and, most amazingly, tells a real love story. Toradora! ranks up there with the very best rom-com anime, and absolutely deserves your time.

Toradora is a story about love. Though it begins by focusing on mere high school infatuation, characters continue to evolve as they experience both success and failure as they head towards their desire. In the end, this results in a cast truly different from the one we started with. Though Ryuji is still a clean freak and Taiga’s hair trigger temper remains, the important aspects change. Though they began as an obnoxious duo that could do nothing but cower in front of their crushes, they become mature students able to discuss their honest feelings. Though admittedly they still require a pretty hefty push every now and again. Not backing down from the reality of such a complex situation, Toradora! shows us that happiness can be achieved if you have the courage to reach for it. But, no matter how hard you wish against it, there’s a chance that someone may be hurt in the process…

I really loved this anime, I think this is the best one. But the final wasn’t really cool, I REALLY suggest Toradora. The firsts episodes are a bit hard to understand, but after somes eps, you’ll get into the anime. You should watch it

I love this anime; it is that kind of anime, after finishing which, you will feel as if you lost something special. It’s due to that impact of the anime

Toradora is one of the more deep school comedy romances. The protagonists are interesting and there’s lots of character development while the comedy does not fall short in any way. It’s a story about how, unlike their outer appearances and first impressions, people can be beautiful once you get to know them better and spend time with them. A show not only about love and comedy, but also about prejudice, misunderstandings, false rumors, psychology and friendship.

I can say some animes make me want to be better, or even desire what I see on screen. Toradora! really made me want to improve my own communication skills with my friends and family. You won’t get anything but high praise from me in regards to Toradora! You can’t help but root for wee little Tagia and company. That’s right Taiga, I’m talking to you.

The people I’ve seen talk about Toradora! tend to get fixated on either half of the show, which is a horrible mistake. Taken as a whole, this work’s honesty and humor paints a picture of high school romance and heartbreak that rings true. The loving, detailed visuals, laid back atmosphere and modest scope make the series a perfect introduction to the romance genre and a standout anime in its own right. No matter how angry it makes me at one moment, the next scene or episode has me singing its praises. In short, Toradora! is a lot like it’s subject matter: In turns hilarious, rambling, confused, charming, and foolish, but ultimately a worthwhile and heartwarming experience.

To sum up, Toradora is an amazing slice of life, romantic, drama, comedy anime, close to being a masterpiece, if it wasn’t for its over-pushed drama and medium animation. Toradora is my 5th favourite anime of all time, right now, and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t dislike romantic comedies. And for those who happen to be in that category, you should give it a try, since it is more unique than the others.

It is an easy anime to pick up and watch, laugh, cheer on your favorite characters, and then want more after the end credits roll. I for one am a fan and strongly recommend those of you that are looking for a good laugh and a touching, if trope-heavy series, sit down and watch.

Toradora has become my favorite anime, as a guy that usually doesn’t care for this genre, which says a lot. It gave me more enjoyment than any of the other anime I have seen so far. I would recommend it to anyone, not just romance lovers.

There are still some highschool romance conventions here but they’re all played well. Toradora is up there as an all time favorite of mine, with only two anime I can think of that can compete with it. If you’ve never seen a romance anime before, I’d start with this one.

Toradora! may have its fair share of flaws but that does not take away the fact that it as an exceptional romantic comedy. You will get to see people show their love through their actions rather than throwing some cheesy lines or saying “I love you” every two episodes. If you are a romantic comedy fan I advise you to try Toradora!

Ramblings On Readings
It got really irritating that it took so long for them to get together. I know that’s kind of the point of the show, but I would have liked for them to get together just a tad bit sooner. Even just a few episodes. It got exhausting that they kept trying to set each other up with other people. It got doubly exhausting when they suddenly realized they liked each other and CONTINUED to set each other up with other people. That’s one of the things I don’t like as much about this genre is literally the entire show is them making their way towards each other, but they only get together in the very last scene of the series (that’s exaggerating for Toradora, but it’s true for other shows).

Light-hearted, cute, funny, you can’t deny the fact that it’s pure romance. However, compared to the complete crap romance which has been coming out these past few seasons, this one’s good. Amazing OST, hilarious and original characters as well as fresh content, Toradora will make you want to watch more and more as you keep watching it.

I think they could have used one more episode and it wouldn’t have felt rushed. But regardless of this, the ending of the series gave me the usual melancholy feeling. I felt happy and sad at the same time, which to me is a good measure of a good anime. I got so caught up in this series; it pains me that I’m done.

Unleash The Anime
Toradora has a very predictable story line and really doesn’t try to make you think otherwise; at least not very well. They stick to the formula that’s been laid out so there isn’t really anything unique about the story. The comedy will make you laugh but sadly it’s dropped and replaced with love triangles and love confessions that don’t go the right way. The characters and voice acting were great but the soundtrack just wasn’t my cup of tea. I had high expectations for Toradora and it met some but not all of them sadly. My ship didn’t sail even though I knew it would sink to begin with but it was nice to hope. Toradora’s ending leaves you feeling satisfied enough but at the same time you think about what the show could’ve been.

Even with its small moments here and there, I did thoroughly enjoy Toradora and I thought it was a successful anime. I will not deny that I wish there were a few things that could have been different, but as far as romance anime goes, this one was one of the top…30. At least, unlike 75% of romance anime, there was an ending and truthfully, that is all I really need from a romance anime, a proper ending.

Attack On Gaming
Overall, Toradora! is a fun series that we would watch while it is on. The series has some fun moments, some emotional moments and tries its best to shake-up the love triangle trope in storytelling. A fan of slice-of-life series would love this, while fans of action or mystery might be a little left out. Which is fine, considering this is a standard slice-of-life series.
